Privacy Policy

MarketEd is an app made by Flaronix ("we" or "us"). This policy explains what information MarketEd collects, why, and what you can do about it. It also covers the MarketEd pages on our website, flaronix.com.

The short version

We collect only what MarketEd needs to run your account and the game. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking. You can delete your account and its data in the MarketEd app, under Profile, at any time.

What we collect

• Account details you give us: your username, your email address, and your password (stored only in a scrambled form that we can't read).
• Your language choice.
• Your activity in the game: your mock-money balance, your plan (Apple or Google tells us whether you have an active plan; we never see your card details), your trades and holdings, the leagues you join, your draft picks, your Bottom Call guesses, your Clout, and your results.
• Chat messages you send in your leagues, and any reports or blocks you make. In public leagues, we also store whether you turned chat off and any temporary mute.
• Technical information created when the app connects to our servers, such as your IP address and the type of device, kept in our hosting provider's logs.
• If you email us: your message and your email address, so we can answer you.
• If you visit our website, flaronix.com: it uses no cookies, ads, or tracking, but Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps basic visit records such as your IP address.

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising ID. The app also saves your login and your settings (such as colorblind mode) on your device so you don't have to enter them again.

How we use it

We use your information to create and secure your account, run trading, leagues, and drafts, show leaderboards and results, keep prices and balances correct, send account emails such as password resets, prevent cheating and abuse, fix bugs, and answer your questions. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it.

What other players see

Your username and your results can be seen by other players. In leagues you join, your roster, draft picks, and standing are visible to the other members, along with the league's name. Your email address and password are never shown to other players. In Bottom Call, once a round is settled, the closest guesses are listed for all players with each player's username; nobody's guess is shown before then. Chat messages are visible to the other members of that league, except anyone who has blocked you.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run MarketEd, and only as needed. Supabase hosts our database and login system, on servers in the United States. Cloudflare hosts our website, and Google hosts our email. If you buy a paid plan, Apple or Google handles the payment and tells us which plan you have; we never see your card details. The companies that supply market prices don't receive any information about you.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of players and MarketEd. If MarketEd is ever sold or merged, your information may go with it, and we'll tell you if your choices change.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account (in the MarketEd app: Profile → Delete account), we permanently delete your account, username, balance, and history. Backup copies may remain for a short time before they are overwritten. We may keep limited records if the law requires it or to deal with abuse or disputes. When someone reports a chat message, we keep a copy of it and the sender's username so we can review it. That copy can stay after the sender deletes their account, for as long as needed for safety. Practice drafts are deleted when you finish or quit them, and any left behind are removed automatically after a few hours.

Your choices and rights

You can change your language and your password, and delete your account, in the MarketEd app under Profile. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, to get a copy, or to have it deleted. To use any of these rights, email support@flaronix.com and we'll answer within a reasonable time. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

Keeping it safe

Connections to our servers are encrypted, passwords are stored in a scrambled form, and database rules make sure each person can only read their own account data. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and don't share it.

Children

MarketEd is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email support@flaronix.com and we'll delete it.

Where your data is stored

Our servers are in the United States. If you use MarketEd from another country, your information is sent to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before it applies and update the date at the top.
